Council-Leader Goldeye and his Grand Council worked tirelessly to build Dragonsrod from the ashes of war to peace and prosperity. All seemed happy. It was just a facade. Dragonsrod is in danger of flying apart at the seams. Someone was undermining everything Goldeye toiled, strived, and struggled for renewing old rivalries and reopening old wounds. Now the attacks have become personal. An intruder, or intruders, have destroyed the egg clutch belonging to Goldeye and his wife, Moira. One egg survived. With nowhere left to turn, Goldeye enlists the aid of Dragonsrod's two best detectives, Handoe and Sandstorm; an exarmy scout, turned fugitive, Maxum; an ex prisoner-of-war, River Rat; and the mysterious Jessa. They have to keep Moira and the egg alive and away from the villainous Councilor Zare and his minions. Goldeye, meanwhile, must fight to save his beloved Dragonsrod from being destroyed by enemies from within and without its ancient borders. The battle begins...
