A Starkville native, lifelong resident and community activist, Dorothy Bishop have since the age of 17 worked for equality, fairness and justice for African American. Dorothy Bishop has never been afraid to stand up or even sit down for her beliefs. This is the story of a proud lady, who for most of her life worked diligently with the local NAACP Chapter and other civil rights groups or organizations in the struggle for justice and equality for under-privileged citizens of her community. Over the years, she traveled many miles to many places?giving of her self-dedicating time and God given determination to carry out the mission that only God could have appointed her. Otherwise, she couldn?t have lasted as long as she has. This is her message to her people.
