Publisher Marketing: It is difficult to overstate the importance of written communication. This book, providing instruction on construction of capital letters, is a beginning for this purpose. It begins with providing experience in the pen/pencil strokes to make capital letters. This is followed by providing the basic alphabet in traditional form, one letter per page, and giving the student the opportunity to practice making the letter. While the letters on the first line are a darker gray, with each line the gray becomes lighter, eventually becoming a dashed letter. This is followed by two rows of colored letters and finally two blank lines for the student to create the letter freehand. Each letter has a couple of objects at the top of the page that begin with the letter on that page. Once the student has learned how to print his (or her) name, there is a line on the first page of the book for the student to enter a name. The book may also be used to provide some basic instruction in numbers. For example, the teacher may direct students to do the odd, or even, letters on a line. Or perhaps do the odd number lines, returning later to do the even number lines. Additionally, if the teacher allows such activity, the student may color some of the black and white objects at the top of the page, the box with the letter, or doodle in the margins, making the learning process fun as well as instructive.
