For Latter-day Saints, language-related principles such as speaking kind words, no swearing, the Adamic language, and blasphemy, are often spoken of in isolated contexts with no description of the larger relationship they may have with one another. "By Words the Worlds are Created" addresses these principles in terms of a single underlying doctrine-that language is a divine gift for which we shall be judged. As such, this volume assumes its readers will have a familiarity with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' scripture generally, as well as an interest in language and language use specifically.
