Poltergeists, child abuse and secret rooms are the backdrop for this tale of a family which spans three generations, beginning with a young woman who falls in love with a young man who is a polio survivor and the quarterback of the high school football team. Their lives are irrevocably changed on December 7, 1941 when the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor. The tale unfolds when the woman dies and her granddaughter discovers love letters which have been secreted away for over sixty years. The discovery and subsequent revelations touches the lives of everyone in the family and compels them to question everything they thought they knew about themselves and their ancestors.
