Publisher Marketing: Early in the 1940s it wasn't unusual to hear the word Mafia as it was almost an everyday word. Today in the year 2012 it is seldom heard not that it isn't still around but the times have changed and It is more sophisticated with big business and doing things legal so as not to be as conspicuous as back in the early years of the 1930s through the 50s and 60s. You may remember going to the small grocery stores and would see a fellow come in and one stand out front with long black coats and just look at the store owner as he opened the cash register and took out a certain amount of protection money and hand it to the fellow standing there with a little grin on his face as no words exchanged. Then they would leave till the following week and repeat it all over again store after store to pick money. If not the store might be burnt to the ground soon. Back then almost everyone knew what was going on but it seemed like it was something they were scared to interfere with at the time till many years later. But this story is about a very nice Lady that was just a waitress with a boyfriend that happened to become friends with a group from the underworld. All of the names in this book have been changed as to protect any one of whom might still be alive. The person that gathered the information and kept notes has recently passed and his lovely wife who was told of the dealings every night wrote them down as she heard his words. They sat in a tiny booth typing away through the years till they had a box of five thick books more than enough for 20 books to be written. For the present time we will only take a part out of one to let you know of the dealings and how Antonio became involved and how things got settled for some of the Mafia's higher up's back in the 1940s and 50s. If you like crime stories you will like this one. Contributor Bio:  Watson, Ronald J Watson is a professor at the Arizona Prevention Center in the Division of Health Promotion Sciences, College of Public Health, as well as School of Medicine and College of Agriculture at the University of Arizona. Contributor Bio:  Watts, Irwin Louis I was born in Massachusetts in 1931 and my parents moved to Michigan around 1934. I accomplished many things and began working at the age of 15 After that I had 4 years of Tool and Die apprenticeship, carpentry work building houses at which time I got my journeyman's card in carpentry. Around the year of 1957 due to unemployment in Michigan I had a job offer in Omaha Nebraska where I met my lovely wife in 1958 whom I married in 1959' I became the assistant manager of a large restaurant and Motel called the Town House in Omaha Nebraska. That is where I met this amazing woman who at the time was the Hawaiian Room Hostess there. It was sort of love at first sight as we both were overcoming some hardships that drew us together. We were married for almost 50 years before she passed away in 2006. We raised 5 great children and I believe we had a wonderful life that was a little different then most people which prompted me into writing a book called "More than One Life" which is published on Amazon and also Kindle. Before moving back to Michigan I had the privilege to do a little teaching of it at Coe College in Cedar Rapids Iowa Where we were married there in 1959 and decided to come back to Michigan. My interests are many as I am now retired and I love the outdoors and the arts. I do a little painting some clay modeling and model boat building and photography and writing of course. One of the first of the books I wrote was of my beautiful wife, titled "More than one life" As we had almost 50 years together. When we first got married we had the privilege of running a restaurant for the Milwaukee Railroad in Atkins Iowa, There we became friends with the game warden and raised abandoned baby Great Horned Owls till they were big enough to release which became my next book titled "The Great Horned Owls of Iowa" my wife started this with me till she became to ill. There my wife and I opened a Taxidermy Studio for the next 22 years and that would be my next book, "Taxidermy" My life of Hunting, Fishing and becoming a Taxidermist. From there I did a some Model boat building and also some clay modeling so I wrote a couple of small books on them and also a great Cookbook for a great lady that lives in Arkansas spending many hours donating time to rescuing unwanted animals. You will also enjoy this great Cookbook called Friends of Gail's Pets Second Chance, this is also on Amazon and the proceeds help unwanted rescued animals .
