"When I Was King" -- A little baby's quest for identity leads him to believe that he is a king. In his own words, the little boy narrates milestones in his life, from birth to adulthood. Life was good for the "boy-king," until he had to grow up. One cannot help but laugh at the little boy's antics, as he struggles to maintain his identity among five older siblings. As a king, the little boy has to grapple with problems of sibling rivalry, economic injustice and racism. "When I Was King" is based on true incidents that occurred in the life of this book's author, as he grew up in the North Florida panhandle.
