Clovis Zornugan took to the high country soon after the close of the Civil War. After all the bloodshed and atrocities of war, and a wife who lasts all of six weeks, he goes in search of solitude, serenity, and gold. What he finds would change his life forever. He rescues a beautiful young woman who was carrying the secret of the ages from a snowy mountain pass and before he knows it, he is carried off on an incredible adventure that will span seventy years and beyond. The book is an intriguing tale of romance, survival and good vs. evil. "Keepers of the Stone," starts out in the high mountains in what is now Idaho and Montana, and leads the reader on a great journey across the western continent to San Francisco, the Hawaiian Islands, and back again. Tara and Zorn share a life of passion amidst the dangers posed by those who would kill them for the gold, or for the "secret" they possess. Author R. James Scott after a long career as a director and playwright brings the pages to life with great imagery, plot and dialogue. The characters become real, and their trials draw the reader deeper and deeper into their lives. "Keepers of the Stone," ends in the same mountains in which it began, but with all we now understand, it may be just the beginning.
