Walking barefooted to within inches of a diamond-back rattlesnake, or running from rushing water in an underground tunnel...or fleeing from tornadoes by land and sea...nearly being crushed by a speeding locomotive...or perched precariously on the seaward side of a jetty as tumultuous waves cover everything...or seated near the clouds on a high voltage electrical tower-the author often felt the hand of Death on his shoulder, but dismissed his close calls with eternity, failing to acknowledge God's compassionate care and love for even the foolhardy and flagrantly obtuse.
