Journey to Dreamland is J. Sorie Conteh's fourth novel. The plot is set in his country, Sierra Leone and also in The USA. It is the story of friends who are in search of a better life in The USA. Their great expectations of America, the dreamland, are shattered when they came to the naked realization that this place where we all rush to come does not solve all our problems. The author adroitly chronicles the experiences of four hopeful immigrants and the expectations of their parents and friends in Sierra Leone, folks whose dreams are much bigger than their children can fulfill. Conteh skillfully presents the disappointments, the heartaches and the deceptions the immigrants both perpetrate and experience. The book is a must read especially for those in the authors' country and elsewhere who believe in a dreamland outside their country.
