In 1783, a slave ship named Kindi sets sail from Africa, on a voyage to Barbados. Its cargo was human freight, consisting of 500 men, packed like sardines and shackled like cattle. They were frightened, alienated and unsure what the future had in store for them. Two brothers were among the quivering masses, Elijah and Mathias Mtumba, and this is their story as they battled bravely to survive the horrors of the slave trade. Sold for a pittance, they enter the world of slavery as field hands on a sugar plantation, and meet the overseer from hell!! Then William Wilberforce an MP in Hull England finds out about the horrors of slavery and with the help of the church and parliament, vows to abolish slavery for good.
