John ?Mack? McElroy is summoned home by Uncle Walter, owner of The Point?fifty acres of real estate at the southernmost tip of Naples, Florida, housing a mansion, horse stables, a boat house, and an airstrip. Mack returns to the mansion to witness his uncle shot dead by a sniper?s bullet. Mack struggles with reoccurring nightmares while sleeping in the mansion, froth with childhood memories of his insane father?s antics and his reclusive uncle?s mysterious behavior. He discovers that Howard Randall?s law firm has a class action lawsuit that threatens his ownership of The Point, and the Seminole Indians are contesting the legality of his grandfather?s deed. The Naples City Council is using the right of eminent domain to acquire The Point. Mack knows it?s all due to the property being worth $50 million, and he?s determined to keep it. As Seminoles are being murdered around him, Mack and Detective Carmen Sanchez attempt to find the truth behind his uncle?s murder. He learns of his father?s land scams involving The Point and his uncle?s decadent sexual proclivities. While Mack finds himself falling for the detective, his friend is murdered by Randall?s henchman, and Mack sets out on a non-stop course to kill Howard Randall. Randall proves to be an extremely difficult man to kill, and Mack?s own death appears inevitable. This story doesn?t end before a flurry of gunfire and a series of plot twists. Carmen?s responsibilities prohibit any chance of a future with Mack. Or do they?
