Max is a Jewish kid from the Bronx. His mother dies when he is 15 and he moves with his father and younger brother to an Italian neighborhood. He befriends Tony, a tough and connected older boy which launches him into a new life with intricate relationships, temptations and a career that leads to a union showdown. This is a story about a young man with both conflicting loyalties and scruples trying to thrive while doing the right thing.
