Like an odorous drunk, He stood before me swaggering, out of control, Reeking of insatiable hate Dripping from his malevolent soul. Clothed in pitchy black, From wagging head to stomping feet, He was bristling in rancor and scorn, While his demeanor spoke of self-conceit. With a vituperative spirit and prejudiced heart, He came spouting epithets of deadly hate, Flaming with bitterness like a demon from Hell, Whose soul had been bartered for a damnable fate. He stood asserting his inherent right To exalted position and bastard fame, While vehemently castigating and defaming Others in evil's accursed name. His stay was short for my prayer was swift. Though I sat in harrowing fear, To God my entreaty was urgently pressing: To cleanse my heart and stay His presence near. -From "Raw Hate," pg. 28 Echoes Of the Nature of Man encompasses a variant collection of prose and poetry.
