I am the second oldest of six children, and a proud mother of one lovely daughter, and two precious grandchildren. The passion that I have for writing started at age nine during my corresponding with a nine-year old pen pal from Romania, while I was a student at Benjamin Banneker Elementary School in Kansas City, MO. If memory serves me right, his name was Andre?! I included a short poem to Andrea?, in one of my letters to him, that, hopefully one day we would meet. Could the poem have been so terrible the reason he never wrote me again? Smile. Anyway, I decided then that I would, one day, become a writer. My secondary education was through the Los Angeles Trade Technical College, Long Beach, California City Campuses and the University of Phoenix (KCMO Campus), first majoring in Psychology and ending in Business Management. My travels cover just over thirty of the United States, a part of Canada and Mexico, and plans to go abroad to Europe, the Asian/African Continent and many other places on the globe. The first poem in this book, ?Still Blue? is dedicated to my unborn child, whom I Love. The emotion behind that lost was devastating, and started me on the journey to Expressive Word Art (January 1975). My passion for writing increased even more when I had the opportunity as a co-writer and character part as "Granny Parker" in the stage play "Talk to the Wall" for three nights at The Homeland Culture Center in Long Beach, California in 2002, at McArthur Park. Writing credits consist of articles in The Final Call Newspaper, The Way Out Newspaper (KCMO) and poetry recitals at the infamous Blue Room and Danny´s Big Easy (both in the Historic 18th and Vine District in Kansas City, MO), Muhammad´s Mosque No 30 - Open Mic Poetry Night, and wedding and funeral ceremonies. Words and life´s experiences tell stories, and, so, I write!
