July 1941, Zagreb, German occupied Yugoslavia. Men in trench coats and fedoras came to our apartment and summoned us to report to the police station in the morning. The men were Usta?e, the Croatian equivalent of the Gestapo who were implementing the plan to rid Europe of Jews. I was seven years old. This is my story.
