naked son is the first volume of a tretralogy entitled Water into Wine that explores the nature of a man, the first person narrator, but also of the women with whom he is intimate. It is set in an indefinite, but recent past in Greece, where the narrator is having an extended drug experience under the supervision of a friend and shaman. He relives past experiences with numerous women, primarily through their sexuality, exploring the movement of power between them. The novel skips across time as the narrator, in his drugged state, skips between relationships and memories. Without a straight narrative, but with time jumping and a greater concern for the inner self rather than the external story, and with graphic and powerful sex, of which there is a lot, it is a refreshing novel to read.
