Promises of Hope: God's Promises Bring Hope

I was born and raised in southern Mississippi. I am the eleventh of twelve children, four boys and eight girls. I lived in the area of Mississippi called the Delta, an area of flat land. My father was a cook and a great one at that. He was great provider and protector for our family. My mother was a homemaker, who took very good care of the family as well. I attended O'Bannon High School in Greenville, Mississippi and I graduated in 1975. In 1982 I decided to pack up and move my four daughters to Minneapolis, Minnesota where later that year I had my one and only son. During my time spent in Minneapolis, my life changed for the better. God placed individuals in my life that were a blessing to me. I met a Pastor who was just having Bible study inside of a basement. He took out the time to talk to me about being filled with the Holy Spirit. This Pastors name is Bishop Keith T. Jenkins of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Inside that basement on May 16, 1987, the Lord filled me with His precious Holy Spirit and from that day forward my life has never been the same. That was the best gift that I could ever receive and I thank the Lord for allowing me to have that experience. Two of my 5 children have also been able to experience this great gift from God. I was so excited when God gave me that gift, a new life began in me and I begin to tell everyone I came in contact with. The Lord allowed us to stay in that basement for 3 years. And we were blessed to move and conduct service at a much larger church in town. God continued to bless us to where in 1991 we were able to move into our own church in South Minneapolis. This lasted until the roof caved in which made move once again to another church until the church we had planned was built. Then finally, in 2001, the Lord blessed us to move into our brand new church that we built by the grace of God. In the fall of 2001, I decided that it was time for me to relocate again. This time I headed back down South to Atlanta, Georgia where I presently reside. I have five children (four daughters and one son). I am also a proud grandmother of 8 grand children (five grandsons and three grand daughters) who I love dearly. I thank God for my wonderful family. We are very close to each other and have a wonderful relationship. My desire is to help and encourage others. I hope and pray that you will be encouraged and blessed after reading this book.
