It was the worst of times in America. Since the currency crashed and the food riots happening the same year things had been slowly getting better. Out of the ashes arose a dictator and by using repressive measures law and order was reestablished. A lot of law and order. In 2016 an order was signed that every citizen in the States would be the recipient of a micro chip implant placed in their neck by September the first. Failure to do so would result in imprisonment in a FEMA camp. In Las Vegas at an RV park a band of retired, and some not retired men, would meet nearly everyday to drink free coffee and trade war stories when the mail came at twelve noon. They had been doing this for years. They had also survived the food and looter riots. The men had informally labeled themselves the worm club which stood for wild old radical men. The chip implant program implemented by Homeland Security was the straw that was breaking the camel's back. An unorganized series of events led by a resident who had known them for years and was not an official member of the worm club took them down a path that they found they could not get off of. The members of the worm club found themselves in a struggle for freedom where the spirit was willing but taxed by bodies that were not so young anymore. But with the help of some angry teenagers maybe they had a chance. The question was not if the worms would survive this journey, but how many?
