Middle school student Maxmillion has just written an award-winning story about a boy and his family who live on Dextra, a strange planet where the color of the sun changes as often as the seasons. After Max reads his tale in front of his science class, he receives a standing ovation from all but one girl. Louise has no idea what everyone sees in the story. Thirteen-year-old Louise is a normal seventh grader who thinks the world revolves around her. As the only child of devout Christian parents, she has grown into an ornery, spoiled girl who seeks revenge on teachers who give her bad grades, hates attending church, thinks her parents are old-fashioned, and only wants to be with her friends in the town square. But when she has a horrifying nightmare one night that her entire family suddenly disappears, Louise is confronted with the unexplainable and must rely on biblical scripture and prayer to lead her to the answers. In this inspirational tale, the message in a young boy's story begins a conflicted teenager's journey as she learns to embrace Christian principles and amend her ways.
