A vicious serial killer sweeps across the White River Indian Reservation and Police Chief Taylor Rains finds himself needing to enlist outside help in order to flush out the unknown assailant. He contacts NABSU, the Native American Behavioral Science Unit, an independent investigative group that specializes in crimes involving Native Americans. Unfortunately for the Chief, the NABSU is co-directed by the last person Taylor wants to deal with, his former fiancee, Andie Prescott. Over a decade has passed since Andie and Taylor were lovers and finding themselves working together quickly proves that time does not always heal old wounds. As the body count rises, the cop and the agent discover that blood, hatred and dark magic is what prompts the killer to slaughter the innocent. This forces them to double their efforts before more lives are lost and, in the meantime, puts them in a position to deal with the realities that drove them apart so many years before. Closing in on the killer, the Police Chief and the Special Agent fight not only the unknown but the chemistry between them revealing the harsh reality that sometimes the one person we are meant to be with is the very person we can't have.
