"Off the Beaten Path" is the fourth volume of poetry by Sara Megan Kay. This is her first published work since 2013. The approach of middle age has done nothing to slow the inner workings of the poet, falling in love and second guessing choices made in the past, seeking and deciphering the truth within. While the past cannot be changed, perhaps the lessons in them can inform a better future. Drawing upon the influences of Anais Nin, Jack Kerouac, and her love of the Beat Generation; Sara forges her way off the beaten path into a way that is entirely her own.
