From Northwomen to Pioneers 1973-2011: a History of Women's Sports at Northland College Deb Jacobson

Women's athletics at Northland College, Thief River Falls, Minnesota, officially started in the Spring of 1974. As I got closer to retirement people kept asking me what I was going to do with all my time. I would tell them that I was going to catch up on a lot of projects that I wanted to finish. This is one of those projects. When I started working on this project, I had no idea what the outcome would be. Would it be a book, a web site, a DVD, a collection of information ?would anyone care? It didn?t take me long to realize even if I was the only one who cared about the history of women?s sports at Northland - that was still good enough reason to do it. There have been over 600 women athletes at Northland. Those 600 women deserve to have their stories told and their accomplishments not forgotten - this book contains some of their stories and accomplishments.
