On a cursed recon mission to transgress the center of the galaxy three men find themselves stranded on an unknown world due to mechanical failure. They are captured by a primitive race, separated and taken north into wilderness. Finally one of them escapes and the search for his friends begins. Fate will unite Nick with Yinna and her shadowbeast Mook Mook, a large formidible antlered animal that she rides and controls by using telepathic images. With her help they will try to outwit and destroy their enemies from the north in their quest for freedom. Nick will find that the planet supports many creatures, and is teeming with wildlife. He will also come to realize that there is another presence, an intelligent race unlike anything human colonization, or civilization has ever encountered.
