The time frame of this novel is the incubation period that led to the Revolutionary War. This war was not so much a revolution but a true civil war, neighbor against neighbor, friend against friend, with messy and shifting allegiances. Patriot Zephyrs is the unfolding of this rebellion as seen through the eyes of Ann-Marie, a young woman newly arrived from England, as she settles into her already strife torn new family and learns the culture, politics and customs of Penn's Colony. Patriot Zephyrs is the first volume in a trilogy. Patriot Rumbles, the second volume, continues the story directly a week after a tumultuous rupture. The sequel, Patriot Storms, will cover this family's experiences when people were eventually forced to openly and often violently take sides.
