The Indian as an Enemy raises provocative questions which acknowledge the historic role of the 'middleman minority' on the African continent. For example, what do we know about the Arabs in Libya, Mali and Sudan? What about the Lebanese in Ghana and the rest of West Africa? What should we think about the increasing specter of the Chinese communist regime and their pseudo business investments from Nigeria to Madagascar? What can be said about the seemingly infinite hoards of South Asians in South, Central and particularly East Africa? Are these groups - all alien to Africa - in any way responsible for the current malaise on the continent? Are they and have they been exploiters in their own right? Can Africa develop as long as they are present? This project is designed to shed light on the historical and continuing role of these "people" in African societies. Focusing on East Africa, this terse book will address the "Indian question" In the words of author Randolph M. K.
