After seizing control of the small alien group, the Omni cultists launched an onslaught against Washington, DC. Nendin escaped capture but was too late to prevent the massacre and was dragged into the heart of the conflict, along with her FBI contacts, as the only hope of ending the destruction. Unlike in Las Vegas, the military found its weapons were useless against the strange defense system the aliens engineered. Nendin and the agents summoned their three creatures to confront the others in a furious battle of mythical creatures and sophisticated bionics. But when victory seems within reach, the cultists awaken the unstoppable Worldslayer and send the last and most fearsome of Morpha's colossal assassins to reckon with Nendin for her meddling. Caz and Nendin find love and terror waiting for them in Reston as they search for the kidnapped aliens. Even with two powerful creatures of their own to combat the walking apocalypse, nothing can stop him from reaching her. Palanor and Shandir stage a daring escape from the cultists but are unable to rescue Morpha and the others. As Slayer closes in on Nendin, they race against time to save her. Their only hope is a bizarre plan to penetrate his mind.
