It was midnight, and Carlos couldn't sleep anymore. Had it really only been a few hours? Dreams like that always made him feel like years had passed. Then again, in the dream, years had passed. Carlos stood up and walked into the kitchen; he wanted something to munch on. The doorbell rang. "Who the hell comes here at midnight?!" He paused. "Who the hell comes here period?" He remembered the people from earlier and shuddered. "It had better not be them . . ." Carlos opened the door. It was them. He slammed the door. They re-rang the bell. He opened the door. It was them again. He slammed the door. Kitoshi caught the door. "Hey, Carlos" Kitoshi put emphasis on his name, at which Carlos twitched "these people have no homes, and you have such a big home so . . ." Kitoshi paused; Carlos's mouth was ajar. "What? You'll let them stay here?! Great! Carlos, you are such a good person!" Kitoshi left through his portal. Carlos hadn't said a word.
