Alfred Berggren
Big Al is a bootlegger during Prohibition. He covers his activities by being a legitimate antique dealer. He brings his booze across the Detroit River from Toronto paying off the Purple Gang for safe delivery to Detroit. At Detroit a major mob from Illinois takes delivery moving the booze to Chicago supplying the many blind pigs in that city. Big Al is offered a bribe by a rival gang to sell them booze. He makes a decision that complicates his life forcing him to run for his life. While trying to keep his feet out of cement, he's accompanied by a platinum hair flapper by the name of Jean Harlew.
