I am only forty-seven years young, my life is changing and my restless sprit surfaces again I began looking for a stimulating, exciting, dramatic, and intellectual hobby. There were few female pilots at this time. Why not me?
The 99?s started by Amelia Earhart was my inspiration so I enrolled in flying lessons. I became hooked? I discovered I had the nerve to succeed and obtained my VFR and IFR ratings. The lure of the clear, blue skies was irresistible. I realized there are no stop signs in the sky, no boundaries. Only those you placed on yourself.
Many people have said to me, ? I wish I could fly.? I hope my book, ?Rushing with the Wind? will be encouraging. I would fly with friends, my husband, my family, or myself. Flying took me to Alaska in the northwest, Nova Scotia in the northeast and numerous places all over the lower United States. Some pilots say ?flying is thousands of beautiful peaceful flying hours and two seconds of terror.?
I found this to be true, but when I almost lost my life twice how do you think I reacted? The book represents the boundlessness of human endeavors
