After 'Swaying' on their way through the 'Swinging Sixties' the Residents of 'Lapley Vale' are about to 'Stagger' towards the arrival of the 1970's. The radical down grading of many of their previously held attitudes towards acceptable levels of their social responsibilities is now attacking their treasured, traditional, way of life. The new external pressures are beginning to find some popularity, especially with some enjoyable side effects created by these unstoppable changes. Be assured that none of the Characters have lost any of their natural, unspoilt, humour. A young couple enjoy a charming romance culminating in a delightful white wedding which enhances the 1968 Christmas Eve celebrations with some amazing repercussions. Crown Green Bowling becomes 'International' when a visit is made to the Isle of Man. Perhaps Readers might agree with R. T. Cain that many of these down-to-earth people featured could be more acurately described as 'Still Swaying'. They would not even comprehend the meaning of 'The Swinging Sixties'.
