The poem, Americans, Same but Different, was my first attempt at poetry after the tragedy of 9/11. I thought it was amazing how we all pulled together in a crisis from all walks of life. I decided to put my sorrow into words with A Mother's Grief. Losing a child has to be the most heart wrenching experience any parent could live through. Uncle Stewart, Fisherman is a tribute to my Mother's only brother. He loved and worked all his life on the water. This man, also, named me when I was born! Dad is about the first man in my life. He was sweet and gentle and loving. Toward the end, I firmly believe the world was indeed moving too fast. I have loved and lost many pets through the years, but Missy in A Tiny Life crawled into my heart unexpectedly. I tried to save her life to no avail. My heart was broken, but knowing Dad would care for her in Heaven helped.
