"The Story Of Crissy" began as a story told to the author's five year old daughter, Stacie, who indeed had been given a doll by a well-meaning elderly friend of the family. The doll Stacie was given had most of her hair cropped off. Not wanting to hurt the elderly woman, Stacie graciously accepted the doll and promised to love her, and named her, Crissy. It was when Frank was asked by his little girl, "why did she give me a doll with her hair cut off", that the author then constructed the delightful "Story Of Crissy." Stacie loved hearing the story so much, asking to hear it over and over again, that Frank decided to put the story in writing and have Stacie's mom draw some pictures depicting the account. After thirty years, this same story is loved by the author's nine grandchildren, and now may be enjoyed by children everywhere.
