It's 1987 and John Kelly is a 17 year old photography student who hero worships his Uncle Bob. The story begins with the arrest of John and his friends in north Wales, and goes on to document the series of events that lead to the arrest and the sinister revelations that come to light afterwards. And then the nightmares begin, nightmares which encourage him to address his hedonistic lifestyle. However, it's only when he meets Diana, a student nurse who introduces him to Hilda Duckett, an old lady with a secret and tragic past, that John finally discovers the meaning of selflessness. The story jumps to modern day and life is good, until a dark family secret is revealed about the past, a secret linked to the tragedy of Hilda Duckett and John's nightmares.
