Trent is forced to move to Alabama with his biological father, of whom he believed was dead according to his mother. After adapting to his new home, Trent has no problem finding his way back to the top of his game and is considered best in the state. But, after hanging with the wrong crowd, his success ends in expulsion. His third and final move to the small town of Taylorville, with his beloved grandmother Mary Jean, is his last chance at success in basketball. While facing the many challenges of racism and jealousy, Trent's vitality leads his team in an undefeated season. Yet, it seems when success has arrived in Trent's life, tragedy never fails to follow.
