Sarah's Revenge was set in Western Pennsylvania's Appalachian Mountains near Erie Pa. in the 1920's to the 40's. An Italian couple immigrated to the United States, and the husband took a job as a coal miner. He also bought a small farm and began a vineyard. The Ricardo's had a son Joseph. Joey grew up with the love of flying in his blood. All of his time and interest were dedicated to that love that would control his entire life. His family experienced all the harshness of that period, Prohibition, the Great Depression, and the terrible experience of early coal mining. Later Joey joined the Air Corp in the early days of World War II. He finished flight school in record time and was on his way to England. He finds his true love during the war and marries her. Shortly after their marriage the couple returns to Norton Pa. to start a new life.
