The Boring Family Book of Recipes: Boring Family Geneology Charlie Boring

I have discovered at least two theories concerning the origin of the Boring surname. One theory, which seems to be based not only on common logic, but also upon some historical record alluded to in this book, is the theory that our Boring ancestral immigrants who came to America were named "Boren" or "Bouren." The theory proposes that these Borens/Bourens either misspelled their names or that their names were misspelled by various clerks, who recorded their names in official records or documents, thus giving rise to our Boring surname. If we look at more ancient beginnings, there may be other explanations.
