This is a book about the life of Betty Beger, with all it's up's and down's. She was an abused child by her Mother, went through and graduated from an all girls Catholic High School. She played the violin in the school orchestra. She got married at the age of twenty two and had five children. Her husband was a workaholic, and she became an alcoholic. She battled the disease, always trying to drink like a lady, which meant having two drinks, and stopping. But, she never succeeded. Through the grace of God she found AA, still battling, and eighteen months later found sobriety. At this time she is sober forty two years. She had two open heart surgeries, and also breast cancer, and had a mastechtomy. She has had no recurrence of cancer, and hopefully her heart is not a problem. Then one day the most traumatic thing happened in her life, her youngest son, Robbie, was diagnosed with leukemia. He died eighteen months later when he was eight years old. Even after all of this, to this day she follows a well lit path that takes her through laughter and a zest for living. I will reiterate, people and God are pulling her through life. They also will do this for you, all you have to do is ask, and act.
