The main theme running through this parabolic tale of excess is that of identity in contemporary society, of people wanting to be somebody, a celebrity, a success, or to obtain a position in the world that they forget to be themselves. The multilayered narrative journey combines the darkly comic with the patently absurd as a young man attempts to escape the drudgery of his life in between the thin line that separates self justification from self capitulation, on realizing that: '...the worst thing in life to be is just like everybody else.'
