The author, Wanda Hellwig, has won three awards for her poetry; two golden poet awards from the International World Of Poetry for 'Progress' and 'The Plight Of The Homeless'. The International Society Of Poets gave her an award for 'My Mother'. She was born in Beaumont California, in 1929. She moved with her family to Arkansas when she was one year old. Her family settled in Yucaipa California in 1936. Her father was a rancher, she grew up on their ranch. She has lived almost all her life, since, in San Bernardino County, California. She started writing poetry in 1978. Many of her poems are about her life, and people she has known.
