This book starts out with a boy that is a small time thief that cares about nothing except himself. He thinks he is on top of the world and life is just the way he wants it. He gets caught and is forced to join the army. All this happens with the September eleventh tragedy happening in the background and those events force him to become a man with honor. It is a story about self-development and it makes the reader realize the hardships that one has to go through just to become a soldier in the United States Army, and the heroes of America aren't just the soldiers but everyone that supports them also. The book has romance, action, and it gets into the mind of a person that is forced to look at himself and make a change.
