The story of the 48th is as varied as its climate and its geography. And the people who have come and gone are a microcosm of the land they inhabited or live here today. Red people, black people, yellow people and white people. Arizona's history has been influenced by them. Most were God-fearing and accepted the land as it was bestowed upon them. Some were determined to change it. But, to this day, the residents look upon Arizona as a veritable paradise which too many still seek to change for better or for worse. After all, our relatives have already lived here; from The Anasazi to the Conquistadores The Europeans to the Africans, the North Americans The Asians to the Latinos
