Jesus gave answers to the temptations of Satan beginning with the declaration: "It is written." The Word of God is a storehouse of answers to combat the woes of this life. It is also a treasure chest of promises and hopes for the saints of God. It has a wealth of remedies for those who have no hope and for those trodden down with the terminal disease of sin. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (Jn. 14:6) Man desperately searches the world over in quest of youth, longer life, and happiness of life. Yet, right before his eyes is the very treasure map that unveils the well of living water springing up unto everlasting life and the fountain of eternal grace flowing from Immanuel's veins. Within its pages the Holy Comforter has written wondrous guides through the straight and narrow way that begins at the foot of the old rugged cross. He leads the seeker securely in hand over the lofty heights of pure truth; and when the weary traveler is faint with distressing thirst, the Spirit and Bride say, "Come drink of the water of life freely, and you shall find rest for your soul and life more abundantly." These single page lessons are set forth only as brief simple studies of various topics of the Scriptures. They are not designed as theological discourses, or the settling of doctrinal issues. These are mere glimpses through the windows of the Word of God. They are thought provokers, docks for launching out into the deep, and stimuli for discussion of the truths of the Holy Scriptures. They are purposely designed for church bulletins, devotions, and study starters.
