A Traveling Zoo is a light hearted memoir of Linda Franco, who was born and raised in northwest Ohio during the late 1950s and early 1960s. The story begins with her grandfathers who were best friends and proceeds with her parents meeting and marrying in the early 1950s. The story describes life in small town America over the course of these years. This family had a different dynamics with the father of the children working as a truck driver therefore not at home much, but the grandfathers both residing with the family (for the most part). The children who are the main characters in this story are very creative and their adventures are never ending. The book is written with humor, and love is evident as the family continues through everyday living. What one child doesn't think of, another one does. The stories deal with many emotions and personalities. This is a very easy to read book that will bring back many memories for all.
