Laura and David Turner are enjoying a cruise with friends along the Turquoise Coast of southwest Turkey. One night they are both drugged, and David disappears. David is driven across the border into Iraq. He has been abducted because of his knowledge of small nuclear devices. Iraqi scientists are determined to produce a suitcase bomb. At first David is well-treated and lives under house arrest with the family of the Iraqi scientist who is in charge of developing the device. David makes several attempts to escape. When he refuses to cooperate with the Iraqis, both his life and the life of Laura are endangered. The war in Iraq eventually provides David with the opportunity to escape.
