A toddler vanishes from a busy south Miami street. The city prays. Surprisingly, authorities have an accurate description of the abductor and know her first name. It is Deanna. Prospects of finding the child and the perpetrator of this crime are certain. Just as surprisingly, this does not happen. The reader follows this child, watches him play, learn and grow, as he and the mysterious Deanna frolic and stumble through sometimes precarious, sometimes hilarious, adventures. The lives of his loving parents are shattered and thrown into a bottomless depth from which they can never recover. A South Miami police lieutenant's personal ties with the family causes him to change his career, and his own life takes incredible and surprising turns.
