There are many revolutions against the royalties that ruled in 19th Century Europe. The hero's background is royal and he helps them. However, he offered aid to Mazzini and Garibaldi in their rebellion against a cruel royalty in Italy. The hero's quest is to conquer death because of deep love for a wife who becomes ill. He has studied medicine and his friend is a chemist, so their goal seems possible. The tragedies are outweighed by deep love, humor and adventure. The ending is an enchanting surprise regarding their quest for a never-ending love.
