Elizabeth Williams Champney (1850-1922) was an American author. She received her A. B. from Vassar College in 1869, a graduate of the second Vassar class. She wrote two series under the titles of Witch Winnie Books and Vassar Girls Abroad. Her works include: Three Vassar Girls in France: A Story of the Siege of Paris (1888), Three Vassar Girls in Switzerland (1890), Witch Winnie in Holland (1896), Witch Winnie?s Studio; or, The King?s Daughter?s Art Life (1896), Romance of the Feudal Chateaux (1900), Romance of the Remaissance Chateaux (1905) and Witch Winnie in Spain (1912) Edouard Frère Champney (1874-1929) was an American author and painter. He was the son of Elizabeth Williams Champney and J. W. Champney. He was named after his father?s mentor, the famous French painter Edouard Frère. He cooperated with his mother in writing several illustrated travel books. Their works include: Romance of Old Belgium from Caesar to Kaiser (1915), Romance Of Old Japan (1917) and Romance of Russia from Rurik to Bolshevik (1921).
