Originally published in 1791 in England, this personal account of an Indian interpreter and trader describes the manners and customs of the North American Indians with an account of the posts situated on the St. Lawrence River, Lake Ontario etc The book also includes a vocabulary of the Chippewa language along with word lists in Iroquois, Mohegan, Shawnee and Eskimo and a table showing a comparison of the Algonquin and Chippewa languages.
