This collection was approached as the idea of an explorer seeking to create a record that leads to a future archive. It is a record that spans 20 years while focusing on the modern and searching for that which is yet to be viewed. This lens-based art can be taken as a survey of an unknown landscape, a study of the spectacular environment to include hard-lined cityscapes, flowering lifeforms, and primitive dwellings that move to advancing structures. The work is presented as experimental scans of the horizon for a sky record, an environmental archive that drifts from an eruption of storms to the surreal with geological terrain as a display of unfamiliar surfaces.
